January Acts of Kindness

In celebration of 50 years of sustainable style, we’re showing our thanks by giving back with 50 Acts of Kindness throughout 2024 – one in each community we’re apart of! Buffalo Exchange Albuquerque kicked things off this January with a donation drive for Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless. Then, from January 15th-January 21st, we partnered with One Tree Planted to plant a tree for each reusable Buffalo Exchange tote bag purchased. Cheers to all of you for purchasing totes and helping us plant 5,000 trees! Finally, Buffalo Exchange San Diego Hillcrest teamed up with Frosted Faces to sponsor one of their residents – Argus. Spoiler alert: when everyone saw his adorable face, he was promptly adopted! Read on to learn more about these amazing organizations.

Kindness Act #1: Donation Drive for ABQHCH at BE Albuquerque

Homelessness impacts 2.3% of Bernalillo County residents. Albuquerque Healthcare for the Homeless is the only health care organization in Central NM dedicated exclusively to people without homes. Huge thanks to all of our customers who helped support their vision of creating a just world for all by dropping off donations at BE Albuquerque from January 8th through January 14th! Still want to show your support? Check out their current needs, make a cash donation or apply to volunteer!

Kindness Act #2: Partnership with One Tree Planted

One Tree Planted is dedicated to global habitat biodiversity & reforestation. Since 2014, they’ve planted over 100 million trees in more than 80 countries and more than doubled the number of trees planted each year. One Tree Planted’s global projects help to restore forests after fires and floods, create jobs, build communities and protect habitat for wildlife. For every reusable tote you bought from January 15th-21st, we planted a tree thru One Tree Planted. (Fun Fact: Our totes are made of 70% recycled plastic bottles.) Thanks to all you, we ended up planting 5,000 trees! Head to their website to find out how you can become a tree ambassador or make a donation

Kindness Act #3: Sponsoring a Senior Dog at BE San Diego Hillcrest

Frosted Faces is a shelter dedicated to providing comprehensive care and innovative resources to at-risk senior pets. BE Hillcrest sponsored Argus, a 10-year-old Belgian Malinois who came to Frosted Faces as a stray. He’s a very sweet boy with a heart of gold who loves to be petted, hugged and brought along on hikes. Just look at that mug – it’s no wonder he was quickly adopted! Want to welcome a similar cutie into your family? Stop by Frosted Faces during one of their upcoming meet and greets! They have an open house open from 10am-1pm on weekends at 1448 Pine St, Ramona, CA.
