November Acts of Kindness

Once again, another month of kindness comes to an end – we can hardly believe there’s only one month left! November started off strong with a donation to Trinity’s Services and Food for the Homeless at BE New York—East Village. At our annual company meeting, we wrote words of kindness to Buffalo employees across the country, acknowledging the many people that make Buffalo Exchange what it is today! Then, BE Portland–Downtown donated to Rose Haven and BE Ventura donated to Paw Works. Keep reading for more info on this month’s Acts of Kindness!

Kindness Act #44: Fought Food Insecurity at BE New York—East Village

BE New York—East Village helped fight food insecurity by donating to Trinity’s Services and Food for the Homeless. This amazing organization has been fighting food insecurity for the past 40 years, serving 200,000 meals annually at their daily soup kitchen and food pantry. Find out how you can support their mission by donating or volunteering!

Kindness Act #45: Words of Kindness at Buffalo Exchange HQ

We started our 50 Acts of Kindness to give back to the communities that made 50 years of sustainable style possible, but we couldn’t do that without thanking those who helped build Buffalo — our employees! At our annual company meeting, we asked Buffalo Exchange managers to write notes of kindness to their team back home to be displayed at their store. Kindness begets kindness, as they say. Do your part to make the world a kinder place by writing a note to someone you appreciate — whether that’s a friend, family member, favorite Buffalo Buyer or even yourself!

Kindness Act #46: Helped Women & Children at BE Portland–Downtown

BE Portland–Downtown supported women, children and marginalized genders experiencing homelessness by donating to Rose Haven! The day shelter and community center provides basic needs such as meals, clothing, warm showers, first aid and education programs to empower their guests for long-term change. In 2023, they served over 66,000 nutritious meals to their 4,000 guests — not to mention thousands of hygiene supplies, bus tickets, loads of laundry, and more. Find out how you can make a difference at RoseHaven.org/Helping.

Kindness Act #47: Donated to Animals in Need at BE Ventura

Did you know that, every 13 seconds, a healthy, adoptable dog or cat is euthanized in a US shelter? BE Ventura donated to Paw Works to support their work giving abandoned animals a second chance at life. In just ten years, the organization has rescued over 15,000 dogs and cats and placed them into loving forever homes. But their work in the community doesn’t stop there — they host fun events like adoption fairs and karaoke to spread awareness on issues like overpopulation and abandonment. Have some extra time on your hands? Donate your time to help an animal in need!
