Halloween-Inspired Outfit Ideas

People in Halloween-inspired looks like a Ramones tee, orange velvet dresses, and a green sweater with purple drip graphic
If you’re like me, then your Halloween celebrations start sometime in August. Yes, I’ve already decorated my home from floor to ceiling in bats and skeletons, so now it’s time to add a head-to-toe touch of the spooky season into my closet. Celebrate 31 days of Halloween (or more!) with these spooky style tips!

When in Doubt, Go Goth

Whether you’re more into classic midnight, dark black, eggshell black, mud black, black ice, Pirates of the Caribbean Curse of the Black Pearl black or Blackbeard the Pirate black, there’s a shade for you. But seriously. Go monochrome and mix in different textures like leather, mesh, suede and lace!

Orange You Glad it’s Almost Halloween?

If monochrome’s just not your thing, opt for shades of orange, purple, brown and green. From cozy, PSL-inspired looks perfect for a pumpkin-carving party to slime greens so bright they’ll light your way through the toughest corn maze.

Hocus, Pocus, Patterns

You can’t go wrong with classic black and white patterns like houndstooth, stripes and polka dots. Make your look even more spooktacular when you incorporate dark florals, plaids or any halloween element like spiders, bats, pumpkins, stars and skulls.

Accio, Accessories!

Of course, nothing gives spooky style vibes quite like witchy accessories. First on my list? Detachable granny collars! Pair them with sweaters, dresses or just a regular T-shirt. Harnesses, corsets, fishnet tights and belts with chains or studs are also great for taking your typical fall look up a notch. Finish the look off with jewelry featuring pumpkins, spiders or skulls and you’re sure to be the talk of the coven.
