Get to Know the Buffalos: Meet Abby and Maeve
Welcome to the latest installment of ‘Get to Know the Buffalos’, where we travel around the country and introduce some of the awesome people who comprise Buffalo Exchange — aka, the best buy-sell-trade business system this side of the Milky Way. Our next stop is California: keep reading to say hello to a couple of our favorite associate and store managers in the Golden State!
BE San Diego (Pacific Beach)’s Associate Store Manager: Abby

How long have you been at Buffalo Exchange and how’d you get started?
Nearly four years now! I had just moved to San Diego and I was looking for a walkable job in my neighborhood. I started out as a Buyer and within six months had the opportunity to interview for an associate store manager position!
What’s the most important thing you’ve learned over your time here?
This job has provided me with so many great skills: communication, teamwork, leadership and patience, and then getting the chance to develop so many people through what I’ve learned myself. The biggest thing has been communication skills because they’re something I’m able to use while working but also in all aspects of my life!

Exploring my style. Clothing is something I’ve always been passionate about, but working here has truly allowed me to experiment and try out new things! One day I’m a beachy mermaid and the next I’m in camo and cowboy boots. It’s so fun being able to play dress up and have fun doing it!
How about your best Buffalo find of all time?
My best Buffalo finds have been jewelry! From turquoise rings to labradorite pendants, I love switching out my jewelry to best fit my outfit’s aesthetic and they’re pieces I know I’ll have forever.
What do you like to do for fun?
I love antique shopping, making vegan meals, swimming in the ocean, cuddling my cats and playing Uno with friends!

BE Sherman Oaks’ Store Manager: Maeve

How long have you been at Buffalo Exchange and how’d you get started?
Five and a half years. In December 2019, I was hired as an associate store manager in Sherman Oaks, CA, all the way from the East Coast! I found myself passionate about teaching fashion and helping staff grow within their roles. I formed a strong desire to be the leader at BE Sherman Oaks and, in February 2025, I had the opportunity to become the Store Manager at the same location where it all started!
What’s the most important thing you’ve learned over your time here?
How to have a voice and be a strong leader. I was intimidated by the role at first back in 2019, but once I gained knowledge of the job, I used that to guide others, which boosted my confidence from seeing the results that came along with it. I learned that you don’t have to lose yourself to be a successful leader. I can be myself and be a strong leader simultaneously and that is forever rewarding and something I can take with me throughout life.
Fav part about working at Buffalo Exchange?
Teaching people about fashion and using our numbers to drive meaningful change. I’ve always wanted an impactful role, so I am grateful for the opportunity to help shape the success of the store.
How about your best Buffalo find of all time?
A 1970s turquoise ring that I bought in my first few weeks here and wore for about four years straight! I will have that ring forever!
What do you like to do for fun?
Lounging outside, reality tv and redecorating rooms — I must have been on HGTV in a past life!
