December Acts of Kindness
And that’s a wrap! We have officially completed 50 Acts of Kindness this year. December was a short and fast one, but the impact was like no other. December began with a shopping event over at BE Nashville, where all proceeds went towards the Oasis Center! Afterwards, BE Williamsburg ran a donation drive to collect winter coats for the annual New York Cares Coat Drive. Last but not least, Buffalo Exchange HQ raffled tickets to see the Eagles LIVE at the Las Vegas Sphere to raise funds for the Hermitage No-Kill Cat Shelter & Sanctuary! Kindness Act #48: Shop for a Cause at BE Nashville
BE Nashville held a shopping event for the Oasis Center, where 10% of sales were donated to help Nashville youth! Founded in 1969, the organization now helps over 3,500 young people a year move into a happy, healthy and productive adulthood. To reflect the diverse needs of the community, they provide a broad spectrum of programs, from crisis intervention to youth leadership to college and career access — and even fun activities like bike workshops and art studio time! Kindness Act #49: Donation Drive for New York Cares at BE Williamsburg
BE Williamsburg helped keep New Yorkers warm by collecting several boxes of winter coats for New York Cares! Since they started the citywide drive in 1989, New York Cares has collected and distributed more than 2.7 million coats to those who need them most. But their work in the community doesn’t stop there — as the largest volunteer organization in NYC, they partner with more than 400 schools, 150 corporations and tens of thousands of individuals to make New York a better place every year. Kindness Act #50: Raffle to Support Hermitage Cat Shelter at BE HQ
For our final act of kindness, Buffalo Exchange HQ raffled off tickets to see the Eagles LIVE at the Las Vegas Sphere at Buffalo. With over 60 raffle entries, we raised $315 to support The Hermitage No-Kill Cat Shelter & Sanctuary, which has served as a refuge for at-risk cats and kittens since 1965. They are dedicated to the shelter, protection and care of all cats in need and believe every cat is adoptable and deserves a chance at a happy, healthy life. We still cannot believe that our 50 Acts of Kindness has come to an end, but we are extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to help out so many communities.
